Your private guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

After checking in, you’ll have time to unwind and get used to Luang Prabang’s pace. Your guide will give a brief tour overview before a welcome meal at a local restaurant.

Note: Before entering Laos, ensure you have a valid passport and visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your entry date. When you arrive in Laos, you can obtain a visa and have two passport-sized photos ready.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Morning

Your family will meet a guide and driver at the hotel. You will visit the bustling Morning Market, followed by the ornate Wat Mai, the old King’s Palace, and the historic Wat Xieng Thong temple.

Afternoon

Make sure to visit the UXO Visitor’s Center to understand the impact of the bombs on the Lao people, and then tour the 16th-century Wat Visoun temple known for its massive stupa and antique gilded Buddha collection.

Then, visit the Traditional Art and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) to learn about ethnic groups, then go to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center for textile tours. Climb Mount Phousi for a city and river view, and relax at your resort in the evening.

Morning

Get up early and take a Tuk-Tuk to the peninsula like a local to witness almsgiving by monks. This morning alms tradition, known as “tak bat,” involves hundreds of monks gathering alms each morning. After the ceremony, return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, your family will be taken to the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfall, where you can hike to the summit, gather wild plants, try local fishing, and help prepare a picnic with fresh produce.

Afternoon

After lunch, you will have time to explore the waterfalls and surrounding forest. Then, the tour guide will take your family to the nearby Bear Rescue Center for a personal tour. You’ll learn about the challenges facing these creatures and get a chance to interact with the bears during feeding time.

After the bear center, visit an organic farm to see the Lao Buffalo dairy. Your family can enjoy samples, learn to milk a buffalo and take part in a Baci ritual.

Morning

Spend your morning in the Tuk-Tuk Library with many interesting activities.

The Tuk-Tuk Library is a mobile library that provides books for kids at remote schools to check out. The Lao government and an international charity provide funding for the library. This innovative mobile library aims to provide much-needed books to schools and their students in underprivileged rural regions.

Tuk-Tuk librarians and volunteers give kids a full book bag with 100 volumes to borrow for two to six weeks. They also teach singing games, reading activities, teamwork, and coordination through play.

Afternoon

After lunch, head to the Suan Phao Petanque playground, where locals play Petanque, a game from the early 1900s in the South of France. Participants roll or toss steel balls toward a cochonnet, a wooden ball, while standing inside a circle. Your guide will brief you on the rules before you join in.

After you’ve completed the game, head back to your hotel in the late afternoon to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Your family will visit the Elephant Park Project today, which is 15 kilometers from Luang Phabang on the banks of the Khan River. There, your children will learn about the decline of elephants in Laos, formerly known as the “land of a million elephants.”

If you want, you may ride rides, take in the beautiful surroundings, and take a quick boat journey to the Tad Sae waterfalls in Elephant Park.

Elephant conservation in Laos is aided by your presence, and it looks to be a fantastic day.

Morning

After checking out, take a quick flight to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Upon arrival at Wattay Airport, your group will be taken to a hotel in the city center for check-in.

Vientiane is known for its relaxed vibe, tree-lined boulevards, fascinating temples, and vibrant markets, blending Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and French influences.

Afternoon

Start your tour of Vientiane by visiting the Patuxai Monument, also known as Anousavari, and taking in the cityscape from the summit. Then, head to the summit of Lan Xang Avenue, which is considered the Lao capital’s Champs Elysees, to see Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe.

Next, visit Vat Sisaket. It is the only temple that survived the 1828 Siamese invasion. Within its walls are hundreds of Buddha sculptures.

Head to Wat Prakeo, a religious museum exhibiting Lao and Khmer artwork. It once housed the “Emerald Buddha,” now in the Royal Palace in Bangkok. Then admire Pha That Luang, Laos’ significant golden stupa.

Don’t miss the COPE Visitor Center in Vientiane. This non-profit organization supports people in Laos by providing prosthetic limbs, mobility aids, and rehabilitation. The center aims to raise awareness about these issues and advocate against cluster bombs. A visit will leave a lasting impact on your heart and mind.

Morning

After breakfast, a Lao NGO-operated farm will welcome and transport your family to learn about the rice cycle. You can participate in activities like sorting rice and making traditional Lao dishes for a picnic-style meal. Your visit will benefit the local community by preserving traditional crafts.

Afternoon

After lunch at the farm, you can take part in farming activities such as fishing, tool and trap construction, bamboo weaving, collecting duck eggs, and picking seasonal organic vegetables. As the late afternoon approaches, you can return to your hotel in Vientiane for the night, filled with life-changing memories.

Morning

After breakfast, meet your local guide and driver. Visit the Talat Sao market to see locals in action. Then, your guide will drive your family to Wat Xieng Khouane, also known as Buddha Park, 25 kilometers south of Vientiane, via the Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge.

Upon arrival, explore the park on foot to see over 200 artistic monuments related to Buddhism and Hinduism, including a 40-meter-tall Buddha figure. The Pumpkin Tower, a six-meter-high structure with three floors, is also nearby.

After your visit, enjoy lunch at Friends Restaurant, a socially conscious eatery located in Mini Makphet in Vientiane.

Afternoon

After lunch, you’ll visit the home studio of a specialist in American textiles with your guide. The workshop employs over forty local weavers to create organically dyed and woven silk items.

You’ll observe the traditional weaving process with a guide. Then return to the hotel to relax for the rest of the day.
