Morning
After breakfast, your driver and guide will pick you up to explore this quaint city further. Let’s begin with Vat Sisaket, the only temple that survived the 1828 Siamese invasion. Within its walls are hundreds of Buddha sculptures.
Proceed to Wat Prakeo, which is currently a religious museum showcasing artwork by Lao and Khmer artists. It was once home to the “Emerald Buddha,” which is currently exhibited in the Royal Palace in Bangkok.
Proceed to explore the renowned Pha That Luang, a shimmering golden stupa that is perhaps Laos’ most significant national monument.
Afternoon
After lunch, you will visit the Buddhist monastery of Wat Ong Tue and Wat Haysoke, as well as the Lao National Museum, a charming example of French Colonial architecture. You will also explore Wat Si Muang, a Khmer temple with a fascinating legend that holds great significance for the people of Laos.
Head over to the Talat Sao and Talat Kouadin Vientiane Central Markets, where a variety of main commodities are exchanged, including household items, fresh food, fabrics, gold, and silver. Perhaps there will even be antique trinkets on exhibit.
At the Patuxai Monument, also known as Anousavari, you may round off your day with a wide-angle perspective over the city. At the summit of Lan Xang Avenue, the Champs Elysees of the Lao capital, lies Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe.
You have the rest of the day to yourself. Take a leisurely stroll along the Mekong River’s shores and try the delicious foods and refreshing beverages at the riverbank stands if you’re feeling adventurous.
