Laos Honeymoon Package: Newlywed’s Dream Getaway 5 Days

Greetings from Luang Prabang, Laos.

Upon arrival, your personal guide and driver will greet you at the airport in Luang Prabang. They will drive you directly to the Rosewood Luang Prabang hotel, designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley in the French Colonial style, featuring tents on stilts in the valley—a perfect honeymoon destination.

After checking in, you’ll have time to relax in Luang Prabang. Then, there’s a quick tour briefing followed by a 328-step trek to the summit of Mount Phousi to see the sunset over the city. It’s also a great spot for wedding photos!

Note: To enter Laos, you need a valid passport and visa. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your entry. Upon arrival, you can get a visa and you’ll need two passport-sized photos.

Morning

After breakfast, your sightseeing tour will begin in this enchanting city. You’ll visit Wat Mai, one of the most ornate temples, and then learn about Luang Prabang’s past and present at the old King’s Palace. Finally, you’ll see the historic Wat Xieng Thong temple with its unique low arching roof.

Enjoy lunch at Khai Phaen’s Friends Restaurant, a social entrepreneurship model that helps underprivileged youngsters.

Afternoon

Proceed to see the 16th-century Wat Visoun temple after lunch, which is most renowned for its massive stupa and collection of antique gilded Buddhas.

Explore the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) to learn about Laos’ ethnic minorities. Then, relax at L’Hibiscus Spa with a 90-minute aromatherapy massage and herbal foot massage, and enjoy the sunset from the spa’s balcony.

Evening

Savor a romantic supper at the best restaurant in Luang Prabang. You are then free to explore the night market at your leisure. At the time of your choice, your driver and guide will be waiting to return you to your hotel.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

Morning

Wake up early and take a Tuk-Tuk to the peninsula to witness almsgiving where monks collect alms. It’s known as “tak bat.” Then, return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, go on a leisurely boat trip on the Mekong River. Visit the Pak Ou caves, home to thousands of Buddha sculptures. There are two caves, Tham Ting and Tham Phum, that you can reach by steps. Tham Ting has natural lighting, while Tham Phum is deeper and easier to explore.

Return to Luang Prabang after completing your cave exploration. Make sure to stop in Ban Xang Hay on the way back so you may sample some authentic, excellent rice wine.

Afternoon

Return to your hotel, where you may relax for the remainder of the afternoon. The spacious decks of your tent room at the Rosewood are ideal for stargazing and sharing moments with your significant other. Take advantage of the chance to get a couples massage in a spa tent where you can see the trickling stream pass under the floor windows.

Visiting some of the top Laotian eateries will allow you to assist in the kitchen while learning about the delicious food.

After breakfast, proceed with your outdoor adventure. Once more, you will be picked up and taken to the well-known Kuang Si Waterfall, which is among the most breathtaking swimming spots on the continent.

Once there, go on a guided hike to see surreal blue waterfalls. Take dreamy pictures, gather natural plants, try local fishing, and help prepare a picnic meal with fresh produce.

Afternoon

After lunch, you’ll have time to explore the waterfalls and surrounding forest. Then, the tour guide will take your family to the nearby Bear Rescue Center for a personal tour. You’ll learn about conservation efforts and get to interact with the bears during feeding time.

If you have time, visit the Kuang Si Butterfly Park to witness some of Laos’s exquisite butterfly species.

When you return to Luang Prabang, don’t miss the chance to witness The Baci, a significant Laotian ritual. It is performed before important events to call back departed souls. You can also join a yoga and meditation session in the hotel’s botanical gardens.

Regretfully, the honeymoon is over, and it’s time to get back to everyday life.
